Bancroft Public Library News:

Story Time @ the Library will be changing to Thursday afternoons at 4:00. We are pleased that we are able to offer a Story Time with the help of several volunteers. After Story Time, there is opportunity for the kids to play together, for caregivers to socialize, and for everyone to check out library materials.

A new offering this fall is an after school movie for kids, each Tuesday at 3:30 PM. Come and join the fun!

We have free Wi-Fi at the library, seven computers available for public access, and we have a coin operated photocopy machine. Of course we have books, but we also have other materials to borrow, including DVDs and Blu-ray discs. If you can't find what you're looking for, we can most likely order it for you from another library in our system. You can even search our catalog online. Our summer programming has ended, but we have a few announcements regarding programs beginning this fall. Story Hour will be resuming on Wednesday, September 11th, at 10 AM. We are pleased that we are able to continue offering a Story Hour with the help of several volunteers. Those volunteers will be taking turns reading stories and offering a simple craft for children and their caregivers each Wednesday morning.

A new offering this fall will be an after school movie for kids, each Tuesday at 3:30 PM, beginning on September 10th. This afternoon movie will also be run by a volunteer, and we are so grateful!

Bancroft Public Library News:

Long time library director Peg Culver has resigned from her position as director, and our new director, Susan Getty, began on June 1st. Effective June 1st, the library has revised hours of operation: Monday 1 - 5 PM, Tuesday 2 - 8 PM; Wednesday 10 AM - 1 PM; Thursday 2 - 8 PM; Friday 1 - 5 PM; Saturday 10 AM - 1 PM; Sunday closed.

Please stay tuned for upcoming information about summer programming. We plan to have lots going on this summer, especially for our youngest library patrons!

Did you know?
We have free Wi-Fi at the library, seven computers available for public access, and we have a coin operated photocopy machine. We books and other materials to borrow, including DVDs and Blu-ray discs. If you can't find what you're looking for, we can most likely order it for you from another library in our system. Long time library director Peg Culver will be resigning from her position as director at the end of May. We will miss her greatly and appreciate her dedicated service to our public library! Filling position will be Susan Getty, a library employee for the past six years.

The Latest News: Feb. 1, 2013

On Saturday, Feb. 2nd there will be an informal meeting at around 11 AM in the library to discuss ideas about beginning a mother-daughter book club for girls ages 9-13 and their moms. Please spread the word!


The Friends of the Library will be having a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, starting at 6:30 PM, in Proudfit Hall. There are many items on the agenda...we'd love to have as many people as possible show up to discuss and offer fresh ideas. Hope to see you there!
